Here fishie fishie...

Since I only worked a half day today...Jeffrey took me fishing!  We had a great time sitting in the sunshine and trying to catch some fishies!  Unfortunately we were not all that lucky, the fish were certainly biting at out bate, but they were not getting hooked. I only caught one, a Jeffrey caught a couple.

Off the dock

Me!

Jeffrey and his first fish...a little blue gill

Me and my first (and only) little blue gill

An attempt at a self timer picture of the two of us...kind of failed, but whatever.

We had a nice little afternoon fishing!  : ) Can't wait to do it a whole lot more

Pinterest makes me so happy.

Hope the weekend has been fabulous...mine was rather boring...so I "pinned" all weekend.  Here are some of my favorites!  Not on Pinterest?  Get on it!

Gorgeous kitchen and color combos.  I would always be happy to cook and clean in this space

Pizza bites. Enough said.

This would make a great engagement photo.  So romantic and whimsical.

Paper covered and painted shoe boxes, cheaper than canvas...and a good reason to get a new pair of kicks!
Ps..I LOVE CHEVRON!

I am so intrigued by this idea...
salty and sweet = yum
EEPP!!! I LOVE THIS!

"Rustic" wood things are starting to grow on me. I  think if done properly it could be very chic...
Thoughts?

Happy Sunday! Happy Pinning!

I am going to start...

Structuring my blog like a f.a.m.o.u.s. blog.  I think that will be fun.  I am also going to do it to keep me motivated about writing and working out....  Here is what I am adding....

1. Friday Pins - My favorite Pins of the week....are you on Pinterest?  If not, get on it. NOW.  I think I might have an invitation or two to share.

2. Wednesday Workouts - I am not going to start an intense workout or anything, but I definitely need to tone and tighten [here and there] So for my own interest and body image I will be tracking my weight and feelings about my body.  I am even going to take a before and after picture...like they have on Pinterest!  Eep

3. Tuesday Outfit -  I kind of hate those people that think we care their readers care about what they wear on a daily basis...but being in this weird college -> adult transition phase I am going to start documenting my outfits and what I am wearing to work every Tuesday...so it's not everyday, because who cares right?

So those are my fun new additions to the blog.

I've got a hot stay at home date with my hunny tonight.  He is grilling me steaks...yumm!

Happy Friday!

OPI no no

I broke a nail the other day...nothing out of the ordinary for me...except in my summer of trying to save money I just didn't have the funds to get it fixed right away. So I contemplated what to do and decided to pick off my nails and go nail-less for a while.  I have only been nail-less for a few days and I feel like a shell of myself! It has really been terrible.  I can't type on my phone, pop zits (yes, I pop zits), scratch my head, scratch Jeff's back...all sorts of little things.  When you spend almost 3 years with gorgeous OPI painted nails, having brittle torn up and unpainted nails is just sad. But that's the way it's gotta be....at least for a little bit.
I think my face says it all... I really hate it...and I need some powder.
So there we have it.  Plain boring nails. poop.

Happy Father's Day!

To help celebrate Father's Day I decided to make my golf loving dad some golf themed cupcakes!  I originally got the idea from pinterest.
I did cheat a little bit and used a Betty Crocker mix...banana flavor, yum! I also used Betty Crocker plain vanilla icing, my dad is not a cream cheese icing fan, so plain vanilla it was.

I had to make the flags because I could not find any at the store.  I used small flat wooden sticks from Michael's craft store. I striped them myself with a black Sharpie.  The flag part was made with yellow scrapbook paper and them I used Mod Podge to hold it together.
I used the same white icing but added some blue food coloring to make the water hazard.  Put it in a plastic bag and piped it onto the cupcake.
To make the sand trap I used crushed graham crackers.

And what baking/decorating experience wouldn't be complete without a mess?  I spilled the "golf balls" all over the counter and on the floor.

And there we have it! Golf themed cupcakes!

Just got to admit it...

Jeff and I graduated from Bradley on Saturday and on Monday we hit the road to spend the week in Charlotte. We had meetings to attend and apartments to hunt for.  I have been waiting to write about the trip because I was not sure what was going to pan out.  I was nearly 100% certain that I was going to land a job. I had been talking to an agent since spring break, and I knew I was going to fit well with his office...well plans changed. Well the State Farm Agent that was *going* to hire me ended up deciding he did not need to add a new team member.
Today was supposed to be the day.  All our stuff was supposed to be packed in tight in a U-hall, the gas tanks were supposed to be filled and the everyone was supposed to be ready to hit the road and move me and Jeff to Charlotte, North Carolina.  Well...it hurts my heart to say this, but the move has been put on hold. Let me repeat it has been put on HOLD not cancelled, just postponed.
I have accepted a job with a State Farm agent in Champaign  (I start Monday)  I will live at home and save money.  Then in September, when our bank accounts are fuller and we are in a more stable position to move...it will happen.  But for now, it will be a summer of working, seeing Jeffrey on the weekends and waiting for September to roll around.

Heading down to Charlotte

Happy Thursday!
